Homeworld 3, PC specs!

After briefly discussing the configuration of Dragon’s Dogma 2, we now turn to Homeworld 3. Right away, we take things up a notch in terms of hardware requirements, with up to RTX 3080 ray tracing at 1440p… And all for an RTS.

Homeworld 3: muscular PCs all the same!

Of course, if you look at the maximum 2160p configuration with ultra ray tracing , you’ll see that the prerequisites are unaffordable. In these conditions, without RTX 4080/RX 7900 XTX, Core i7-14900K/Ryzen 9 7950X3D, it seems complicated to play the game. After that, one wonders whether the team didn’t take a risk by displaying the highest-performance components on the market.

In any case, the common base of the game is RAM, which will almost systematically require 16 GB of memory, except at the very least. Otherwise, VRAM requirements range from 6 to 16 GB, depending on the application. This will depend on the presence of ray tracing and resolution.

However, as long as we don’t get into the subject of ray tracing, 1080p/medium gaming is within the realms of affordability. On the GPU side, an RTX 2070/RX 6700/Arc A580 is recommended. On the CPU side, you’ll need an i7 11700K/Ryzen 5 5600X, with 16 and 12 threads respectively.

With the switch to 1440p, processor requirements have increased. Here, you’ll need a CPU with a minimum of 16 threads, with the 5800X from AMD, while the 12700K from Intel (16c/24t). The graphics section features an RTX 2070 Super/RX 6600 XT/Arc A770.

Finally, in UHD Epic details, we’re talking about completely up-to-date processors with i7 13700K and Ryzen 9 7900X. As for graphics, an RX 6900 XT or an RTX 3080 seem necessary.

Clearly, what the config is telling us is that the title will be very heavily dependent on CPU power, a little less so on graphics card power… Provided you don’t activate ray tracing. In the meantime, we have learned that the game will be compatible with DLSS 3, FSR 2 and Intel graphics cards.
