Imagine two colleagues who work in 3D. They’re looking for high-performance graphics cards to work more efficiently and buy two RTX 5090s. However, one of them turns out to be an RTX 5090 Astral signed by NVIDIA’s CEO himself, Jensen Huang, to mark the 30th anniversary of the ASUS brand (the ROG line is celebrating its 20th anniversary). Faced with this one-of-a-kind piece, he decides to put the card up for auction via Bonhams, a platform that’s at least somewhat reputable… or at least more so than eBay.

From the start, he knew he was acquiring a card that was out of the ordinary. In fact, the card he was buying was supposed to be a model signed by one of ASUS’s executives, but upon receiving it—surprise! The worst part is that he bought the card on the secondhand market. We also know that the card’s original owner received it after winning a contest and that it’s a one-of-a-kind piece. However, since the contest, it’s unclear how many owners it has had.
In any case, the 3D artist says he never used it… Such a rare and unique item shouldn’t be damaged. Instead, the card is being auctioned off via the Bonhams platform. Clearly, the goal is to raise as much money as possible, which will likely be used to purchase and fund equipment for other artistic projects.
The auction runs from October 4 to 14:

Another factor to consider: current estimates put the price between $10,000 and $15,000, but it’s clearly likely to sell for more—especially considering that NVIDIA’s CEO’s leather jacket sold for nearly a million dollars… That said, the card is much more impersonal—it’s not a piece of clothing the man wore or anything like that—but his signature could be worth its weight in peanuts!
