GTX is officially over!

Last December, we told you that NVIDIA’s GTX era was coming to an end… Now we have confirmation. According to Chinese forum Board Channels, the chameleon has sold out. All that’s left is the stock held by the brand’s partners, and then it’s all over!

GTX: it’s all over!

GTX 1650 - GTX 1660 - GTX 1650 Ti

As a reminder, the last cards to bear this name were the GTX 16s. At the time of the launch of the very first RTX cards, these cards occupied the entry- and mid-range sectors. As a reminder, they were distinguished from RTX by the absence of RT Core and Tensor Core. While ray tracing was supported in software, the performance of these cards in this area means that we’ll be disabling the feature to maintain FPS.

Since then, NVIDIA has only released RTX cards, leaving the brand’s historic branding on the sidelines.

For the time being, we learn that NVIDIA has emptied its stock of Turing GPUs and will no longer be supplying GTX chips. However, NVIDIA’s partners still have a small amount of stock to release a few graphics cards or notebooks with this type of GPU. However, these stocks will not last forever, and estimates indicate that they will last between 1 and 3 months.

Now, what to choose for a modest sum? The solution is to turn to the RTX 3050 6GB. This model is already available from a number of manufacturers. As for price, you can find one for just over €200!
