Yesterday was the NVIDIA conference with the announcement of the new graphics cards RTX 4090, RTX 4080 16 GB and the RTX 4080 12 GB. GALAX took the opportunity to announce that these three cards would be available in SG version, i.e. “Serious Gaming”.
GeForce RTX 4090 Serious Gaming:
This version has a power stage composed of 18 + 4 phases and will represent the flagship of the brand. It features a new RGB backlighting specific to this series. The Boost frequency can reach 2580 MHz thanks to the cooling system level equipped with three WINGS 2.0 fans of 102 mm. These new fans have a thickness of 20 mm and increase the maximum airflow and pressure by 25% and 15%.
In the bundle you will find the 102mm ARGB 1-Clip Booster 2.0 fan that can be attached to the back of the PCB. But that’s not all as GALAX also adds a 1x PCIe 16-pin to 4x PCIe 8-pin adapter and an ARGB Dark Obelisk bracket.
GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB Serious Gaming:
The RTX 4080 16 GB version also benefits from a cooling system that uses the three new 102mm WINGS 2.0 fans. On the power supply side, we are here on 16 + 3 phases. Aesthetically the RTX 4080 16GB is very similar to the RTX 4090 even if its heat sink is slightly different since it loses a heat pipe to have 4 of 8 mm and 5 of 6 mm.
In bundle, we still find the fan ARGB 1-Clip Booster 2.0 of 102 mm and the ARGB Dark Obelisk support. Note that this model has like the RTX 4090 the 16-pin PCIe Gen5 power connector.
GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB Serious Gaming:
Finally, let’s finish with the RTX 4080 12 GB version. There is a small change in the fans, as we have two 92mm and one 102mm WINGS 2.0 fan. The power supply stage consists of 11 + 2 phases and the thickness of the card is increased to 3 slots.
The heat sink is thinner and has 8 heat pipes of 6 mm. We have no information yet about the price, except the availability of the RTX 4090 SG version which should be for October 12.
