Another video from Der8auer, this time tackling one hell of a monster. The videographer dismantles a Titan Ada, a card whose existence has long been confirmed. In his first video, he tests the card. This time, he dismantles the card in its entirety.
Titan Ada: disassembly by Der8auer!
Broadly speaking, this Titan Ada is a card that has never officially seen the light of day on the market. There may be several reasons for this, such as a GPU that was too powerful and competed too seriously with NVIDIA’s professional offering… Or the board’s overly complex assembly could have been one of the reasons why NVIDIA didn’t market this version.
In any case, we find an unconventional heatsink and assembly, as with the RTX 4090 Ti. In fact, the two boards share an equivalent design in terms of assembly. As a result, the card’s PCB is rather narrow, positioned under the heatsink’s edge. The heatsink houses the GPU and 24 GDDR6X memory chips, which contribute to 48 GB of VRAM. As this is a dual-sided configuration, a backplate incorporating flat heat pipes is also present on this model.
Video connections are located vertically on the PCB, which is itself mounted in parallel with the motherboard. For connection, we find a second board with PCIe 4.0 x16. The power supply of this model is also very interesting, as this Titan Ada features two 12VHPWR connectors, which are connected to the board via thick copper contactors.
Finally, the heatsink is equipped with three fans, one of which is sandwiched in a tangle of heat pipes and aluminum fins. At the same time, this heatsink has been designed to handle TDPs of 900W.
Finally, with its RTX 5090/5080 FE, NVIDIA will be remembering a different design again, notably in terms of the number of PCBs used.
