DDR5 : XPG, first manufacturer to push its RAM to +8000 MT/s !

As we know, with the arrival of Alder Lake-S, Intel will bring DDR5 to the general public. The manufacturers are already working on the kits and we have already had a few announcements, including ADATA. However, XPG seems to be the first to overclock its RAM to more than 8000 MT/s!

Adata XPG 8118 MHz

Of course, for NDA reasons, the platform as well as the processor reference used are hidden by the brand. However, it is clear that we are talking about an Alder Lake-S platform. Indeed, this standard of RAM is not for immediately at AMD. For that, we will have to wait until the arrival of Zen 4.

We’re getting a bit lost, but you should know that XOCL (XPG Overclocking Lab) has pushed one of its memory kits. During the exercise, the memory reached 8118 MT/s while it was working at 4800 MT/s. A nice increase in frequency which is, however, hardly surprising.

Indeed, we know since its announcement that the DDR5 will be very playful in OC because of the integration of its power circuit directly within the strip. That said, it remains to be seen if all the modules will be as playful in overclocking. Also, what about the means used during overclocking, especially in terms of cooling.
