Following on from NZXT’s H6 Flow, the Dark Base 701 is now available from be quiet! The German brand is announcing a new high-end reference that follows on from the Dark Base 700, while taking design inspiration from the Dark Base Pro 901.

With this case, be quiet! offers us a model with slightly larger dimensions than the Shadow Base 800: 249 (W) x 565 (D) x 523 (H) mm. However, you’ll have to watch your back, as it’s no lightweight, weighing in at 12.8 kg.
Inside, there’s ample space for an E-ATX motherboard. What’s more, its tray is removable, allowing for assembly outside the case and even reverse ATX mounting. As for the graphics card, 415 mm of clearance is provided. It can be mounted vertically, thanks to three slots.
As far as ventilation is concerned, be quiet! has announced that it is focusing on airflow rather than silence. To this end, three 120 mm high-speed Silent Wings 4 fans are fitted as standard. On the watercooling side, 360 mm radiator support is also provided.
To simplify wiring, we’ve included a cable-guide trunking system. Likewise, a fan hub is also present, enabling management of eight fans and two RGB devices.
Finally, to guarantee a certain airflow, the brand opts for perforated front and top panels. This represents a 180° turnaround from the previous Dark Base, which featured mostly insulated panels.
The price is a serious sting in the tail, at €229. Availability is set for November 14!
