Earlier this morning, we reported on the announcement of a new case from Jonsbo. The company unveiled its BO400, a compartmentalised aquarium-style reference. However, the design of the latter is strangely reminiscent of that of the MasterFrame Series, as we pointed out in the article. In short, our inside sources tell us that Cooler Master is seriously wondering where Jonsbo got the ‘inspiration’ for its case.
Cooler Master vs Jonsbo, a clash to come?
As you know, in the IT world, brands jealously guard their design… Whether it’s the way they work, the look of their products or anything else.
In this case, there’s no denying the strong resemblance between Jonsbo and CM. Indeed, the style of the Chinese brand’s borders is very reminiscent of those used by Cooler Master. In any case, it’s enough to alert the Taiwanese brand, which is launching an internal investigation to determine whether there has been any espionage leading to design theft. For the time being, this information has only been leaked, and we would reiterate our usual reservations to those who might jump to hasty conclusions.
Will there be a trial? That’s the question, we suppose, depending on the results of Cooler Master’s investigation and the evidence gathered. Remember that a lawsuit between two brands is long and costly. Generally speaking, this type of case is resolved behind closed doors following internal negotiations.
