[Computex] With the MasterHub, Cooler Master aims to establish itself in the streaming market

There are plenty of products out there designed to make the streamer’s life easier. Some brands have even boosted their reputation with this kind of accessory. Elgato’s Stream Deck springs to mind. And it’s to this monument that Cooler Master has set its sights, offering a solution whose modularity is its primary argument. We had some fun with the MasterHub at CES in Las Vegas at the beginning of the year , and it looks like the final version will be on show at Computex in early June, ready to hit the market this summer.

As you can see, once you’ve got the main base, you can purchase various modules that can be easily connected. In fact, the base features numerous pogo-pin contacts and integrated magnets for assembling its configuration. Modules come in a variety of shapes and sizes. So you can have fun or optimize access to your tools by placing your modules on the 4.9″ tray as if you were assembling your own Lego. Versatility is MasterHub’s other strength. Don’t think that this accessory is just for streamers. Cooler Master plans to offer three packs for different uses: a streamer kit, a video editing kit and a photo editing kit.

To control all this, Cooler Master supplies a utility called MasterControl. The first level of operation allows you to modify module buttons in real time. At this stage, we can see that the MasterHub integrates perfectly with Twitch and Streamlabs, but we don’t know if it has native connectors for other streaming-related tools or image and video editing applications.

For the moment, the starting price of the basic module has not been officially communicated. We understand that the product will be launched at $400, which seems a little high compared with the competition’s offerings. However, the originality and modularity of Cooler Master’s solution are not to be found among its fellow competitors.
