While we’re still waiting for Battlemage, which could well arrive in December, new rumors are hinting at what’s to come at Intel. Indeed, our Spanish colleagues indicate that Celestial, the next generation, could well see the light of day in 2025… That’s two GPU generations in the space of a year!
Celestial, not cancelled, but launched ahead of schedule?
Currently, Intel’s graphics card catalog includes the A770, A750, A580, A380 and A310. However, at the time of their launch, while these models offered performance to rival the mid-range offerings of Intel and AMD at the time, time has not spared them and they are beginning to suffer in new games. Blue is in need of something new, and should be announcing Battlemage next month.
However, despite rumors of cancellation, the company is working hard on Celestial. In fact, we’ve learned that this generation could see the light of day fairly soon after Battlemage. It remains to be seen what form the architecture will take: iGPU or dGPU? In any case, rumours suggest that Xe3 chips may well accompany Panther Lake and Nova Lake processors.
Finally, other leads point in this direction, such as a profile from a LinkedIn user indicating that he had been working on Xe3 and Xe3p until July 2023. Otherwise, initial support for the architecture can be found in the HWiNFO software. To be continued, of course. In any case, we may know a little more at the launch of Battlemage, perhaps with an updated roadmap.
