The ASRock stand at Computex 2026 featured the unveiling of a new Phantom Gaming graphics card with a new design. The card on show has yet to be officially announced.
According to TweakTown, the card on show will be a Radeon RX 9070 XT. ASRock is quoted as saying that the card features a new design from its ” Phantom Gaming ” series. This model benefits from a new cooling system, but above all, it is equipped with a 12V-2×6 power connector. The use of this connector, specific to NVIDIA cards, remains rather rare on Radeon cards, although ASRock already uses the connector on its RX 9070 XT Taichi model. Most Radeon RX 9070 XT boards use dual eight-pin power connectors.
This new design is perhaps the future of high-end models from ASRock, which already has several models for the Radeon RX 9000. These include the “Taichi”, “Steel Legend” and “Challenger” series. ASRock’s range already includes a 12V-2×6 cable equipped with a thermal probe! If the cable heats up, the system cuts out to prevent damage to the GPU and power supply. In the event of overheating, the power supply cuts out to protect the hardware. So it’s only logical that ASRock should use the 12V-2×6 connector on many of its graphics cards, rather than the usual 8-pin connectors.
