An RX 9060 XT with a frequency of 4,643 MHz

Outch, that’s the first impression that comes to mind! Overclocker Bill “Sampson” Alverson pushed a copy of an AMD RX 9060 XT, AMD’s entry-level RX 900 series, to the impressive frequency of 4,643 MHz. Such a frequency was, of course, achieved under liquid nitrogen. However, the RX 9060 XT used to reach this frequency is not a commercially available card, and has benefited from special treatment.

It’s a sample, the brand of which we don’t know, and it hasn’t been commercialized. The screenshots indicate that it benefits from a special BIOS that can be parameterized via customized software, in particular for testing under LN2. We can see the reference “L1N2control.exe” and a voltage of 1,610 mV to reach the frequency of 4,643 MHz. This is a result that will not be achievable by the average user. It does, however, demonstrate the potential of the AMD card when the power, voltage and temperature limits are removed.

However, this is not the frequency record for this model, as Sampson and Splave have already previously reached the frequency of 4,769 MHz. At 4,643 MHz, this sample offers a gain of around 48% compared with the original frequency, which is something to dream about!
