If some people know little or nothing about Asetek, those in the know know know that the company is behind an impressive number of brands, supplying the pumps on many of the AIO kits sold by Asus, MSI, Fractal and Tryx. But the company seems to have its mind elsewhere, and not necessarily in PC cooling. Asetek has confirmed that several entities have expressed interest in entering into potential capital partnerships for its currently unused portfolio of liquid cooling assets for data centers. No need to think too hard: we all know that servers are increasingly energy-hungry, and interest in high-performance liquid cooling solutions is growing. What’s more, Asetek even has a buyer who has officially expressed an interest in acquiring the entire liquid cooling business.

Would Asetek like to pivot towards Simracing?
So, as the saying goes, there’s still a long way to go from glass to lips. But let’s not forget that Asetek isn’t just in the watercooling business. Indeed, the company is increasingly focusing on its SimSports brand. The company seems to believe strongly in the simracing market and has created a range of steering wheels, pedals and accessories. At the end of last year, the company announced a partnership with Xbox to offer its hardware on consoles under the “Designed for Xbox” label. Should this deal come to fruition, it would mark a major step forward for the company, best known for its liquid cooling solutions.
