AMD could launch the Ryzen 7 5700X, 5600 and 5500

AMD is struggling, as we have already said. So much so that on the entry level “gaming”, where the reds were curling a few months ago, if you want to find a coherent and cheap CPU, it is not uncommon that the choice stops on a good old i5-10400F ( or 11400F ). The arrival of the small Alder Lake did not arrange the things. In these conditions, some rumors indicate that AMD could launch several new Ryzen references including the Ryzen 7 5700X, the 5600 and the 5500.

3 “new” Ryzen 5000 to regain market share?

For several weeks now, our European sources have been telling us about the arrival of another Ryzen 5000 CPU in addition to the 5800X3D. Until now we thought that the latter could be a possible 5600X3D, but others seem to know that it is the classic Ryzen range that will expand.

  • The Ryzen 7 5700X, looks like the 5800X with 8 cores, 16 threads but a TDP of 65 W against the TDP of 105 W for its big brother. It could have higher frequencies and a very low price, confirming the shift in the range that we mentioned a few days ago. AMD would like to position it opposite the 12600K.
  • The Ryzen 5 5600 will be the almost twin brother of the 5600X, using the same recipe we knew with the 3600/3600X. Very similar basic performance but less overclocking capacity.
  • The Ryzen 5 5500 will certainly be a 6-core CPU. Our certainties stop here, it is difficult to go further at this moment but it seems that AMD wants to position it against the i3-12100. The question will be whether the Ryzen 5 5500 comes with SMT support or is a simple 6 cores / 6 threads.

These processors should be made official in March and arrive in the distribution channels in the second quarter, at the same time as the announcement of the price drop for the current range.
