After the Gigabyte B650M K, a rather affordable AM5 model, we have some news about an A620 motherboard. The objective with this chipset is to go further in the reduction of costs by completely eliminating PCIe 5.0 to offer affordable AM5 motherboards, hopefully priced at $125 or less.
A620: a first ASRock card spotted!
With this model, ASRock offers us what is clearly an entry-level card. This can be easily guessed from the leaked visuals. As you can see, the card is quite bare, with no heatsinks on the VRMs. On the chipset, we find a small aluminium block.
The connectivity is also very basic. On the top we can see two DDR5 memory slots. The PCIe part is satisfied with a first 4.0 x16 connector followed by two small 3.0 x1 slots. Additionally, there are two SATA III ports and two M.2 slots, probably in PCIe 4.0 x4. Finally, there is also a slot for a WiFi module.
The power supply stages seem to be quite light, but let’s remember that this card is not designed to overclock a CPU. Let’s just say that it is suited to non-X 65W Ryzen 7000s, or maybe even the non-overclockable 7000X3D.
Now, we’re quite curious to see what the price of such a card will be, hopefully around the €100 mark given what it offers. As for the launch, Videocardz reports that the A620 will be launched next month.
