We only became aware of 8BitDo fairly recently with the announcement of their retro Xbox products. Since then, the brand has expanded its catalog with a series of products featuring Nintendo branding, specifically the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). This product series is quite extensive and includes keyboards, mice, joysticks, etc.
8BitDo’s complete Nintendo range at CES!Â
As you can see hanging on the wall, the brand’s Nintendo range is particularly comprehensive, offering two keyboards in two different formats, two mice with different styles, a joystick, an arcade pad, and more, all in the Nintendo style of the era. The whole range features rough cream-colored plastic and large red and black buttons—in short, it’s got that distinct 80s feel!
Of course, despite the retro style, the components are perfectly modern. The keyboards are mechanical, as are the joystick and arcade pad, which feature switches from the Kailh catalog.
More specifically, the keyboards are available in 100% and TKL formats and feature an aluminum case and solid sound insulation. This is reflected in the weight of 2.2 kg! The set is wireless and has an internal 6500 mAh battery.
On the mouse side, the Nintendo-inspired Retro R8 and N30 are also on display. The N30 offers a unique ergonomic design with its straight edges and two circular buttons or directional pad on the side, while the Retro R8 seems more comfortable.
Finally, we’ll finish by mentioning the presence of green Xbox-branded products with their translucent plastic, as well as the rest of the brand’s catalog. In short, this is the kind of gear that retro hardware lovers will appreciate.
