RTX 5060 (Ti) 8 GB, nobody wants it : NVIDIA cuts production!

When NVIDIA announced its RTX 5060 (Ti), we were uncomfortable to learn that the company was continuing to offer 8GB cards. As we’ ve seen recently, these memory capacities are increasingly inadequate for recent games. Tests have shown that the difference between the RTX 5060 8GB and its 16GB counterpart is so great, depending on the scenario, that we wonder whether it’s the same card at all. In short, demand for these 8GB models is so low that Chameleon is cutting back production!

RTX 5060 (Ti): production of 8 GB models reduced!

Broadly speaking, demand for NVIDIA’s 8GB cards is at half-mast, and the cards are finding few customers… In any case, there are fewer of them than NVIDIA had anticipated. Inevitably, this is creating a certain amount of mess at the Chameleon’s, as low demand = rising inventories, which in turn is creating price instability as supply outstrips demand.

To avoid losing money, the Greens are therefore adjusting board production, and this adjustment is being made by lowering output. In concrete terms, production of the 5060 Go is down by 15%, while that of the 5060 Ti 8 Go is down by 30%! That’s a serious cut, let’s face it!

With the demands of video games on the rise, consumers are opting for a higher-priced card with more memory. MindFactory statistics show that 80% of GPU sales are for cards with 16 GB VRAM! As a reminder, this increase in VRAM requirements was observed during the release of The Last of Us part 1 and Hogwart Legacy. Since then, with ray tracing, DLSS/FSR and frame generation, memory requirements have not fallen – on the contrary.
