The RTX 5060 (Ti) are the subject of numerous rumours this morning, as it would appear that the cards will not necessarily use 12V-2×6. On the other hand, according to Maxsun, the Ti version of the card will arrive in two variants… without specifying which. This tends to confirm the existence of 8 and 16 GB versions, similar to the RTX 4060 Ti.
RTX 5060 (Ti ): still using good old 8-pin PCIe!
In broad terms, we’re learning a little more about NVIDIA’s future card. Already, the slides shared via Douyin seem to confirm the rumours of a March launch. On the price front, we’re told that the 5060 will cost between ~2600 and ~3400 yuan, and the 5060 will cost between ~3300 and ~3600 yuan. It’s worth noting that prices are higher than for the RTX 40. In fact, the RTX 4060 was launched at ~2400 yuan, while the Ti was launched at ~3200 yuan in 8 GB and ~3900 yuan in 16 GB.
Another factor that has been revised upwards is the power supply requirements. With the RTX 4060s, a 550W power supply was recommended, but this has now been increased to 650W. However, the good news seems to lie in the connector used. According to the slides, it seems that NVIDIA is not forcing its partners to use 12V-2×6 to power its new cards. We therefore expect that the good old 8-pin PCIe will still be used.
On the other hand, it makes sense, since we can reasonably assume that the power consumption of this series will be kept under control. The use of a 16-pin connector would therefore not be necessary. What’s more, as Overclock3D pointed out, we can imagine that customers of this type of card don’t really want to upgrade their power supplies when they’re already opting for entry/mid-range graphics cards.
This news comes in complete contrast to the latest (admittedly dated) rumours indicating that all RTX 50s would use a sixteen-pin connector.
