Noctua praises the merits of its CPU heatsink, the NH-U14S DX-4677. During its short video, we see the heatsink in action cooling a Xeon W9-3495X consuming 700W! Yes, these new Xeons are monsters of consumption!
NH-U14S DX-4677 a monster on socket LGA-4677 !
As a reminder, with this heatsink, the Austrian brand adapted its general public model to the huge Intel socket, the LGA-4677. The latter saw its copper base widen in order to cover the IHS of Sapphire Rapids processors as it should. In addition, to give more pep to its fan, Noctua added a second fan NF-A15 HS-PWN. Couple all this with a heat sink with six heat pipes and you have a powerful package.
Indeed, this model was mounted on a Xeon W9-3595X coupled with a Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE motherboard. The whole set had a consumption of 700W under load and the Noctua cooling system seemed to cool the whole set quietly. Nevertheless, we do not have all the information related to the system. We think in particular of the frequencies or the type of application used to solicit the CPU.
Anyway, the result is quite impressive. Now, it remains to be seen if an AIO would be able to do better… Although there are not many watercooling kits that can be mounted on this type of socket. Apart from the LiqTech TR4 from Enermax which has recently received an update to be installed on the LGA-4677. This could make an interesting duel!
