Clearly, new generation graphics cards are too expensive. At the moment, you need to count at least 980 € for an RTX 4070 Ti against 1026 € for an RX 7900 XT. As we said here, the situation is hardly tenable and things can’t last. Moreover, it seems that we start to see the beginning of a downward slope since sales are falling and price discounts are starting to appear, especially on the RX 7900 series and RTX 40.
RX 7900 Series: price drops in China!
To boost sales and gain competitiveness, AMD has lowered the price of its cards in China. Thus, the RX 7900 XT shows a price lower by -19% compared to its original selling price. This brings it from 7399 yuan to 5999 yuan. However, the RX 7900 XTX, the drop and much less palpable: only 5.1%. It then goes from 7999 yuan to 7589 yuan.
However, AMD is not the only one to do so since its rival, NVIDIA, does the same. The RTX 4090 shows a drop of -7%, while the RTX 4070 Ti loses -10.2%. In addition, the card to enjoy the biggest drop remains the RTX 4080 which makes -15.3%. The Chinese can then get a 4090 at 12149 yuan (€ 1653), an RTX 4080 at 8049 yuan (€ 1095) and a 4070 Ti at 5839 yuan (€ 794).
As for the older cards, the RTX 3090 Ti loses -30% and stands at 10499 yuan (€1428) while the RX 6900 XT falls to €633 (4659 yuan).
