[nextpage title=”Introduction: “] This Wednesday, Vertex and Jefforion were at the Gamescom and in particular in the warehouse rented for this occasion by Asus to participate in the ROG event. The idea of the brand was to gather all its products in a dedicated place. Our colleagues made us live via our Discord the moment spent there and the information received during their discussions with the Asus team. Here is a summary and a series of photos taken on site. You can also find all the announcements made by Asus during the Gamescom 2022 in this video. Let’s start this day with the presentation of a series of motherboards present during this day.

[nextpage title=”Motherboards: “] We already had the opportunity these last weeks and this morning to talk about the different motherboards announced by Asus. We will now come back to some of them that particularly caught our attention by offering you the pictures taken on site. If you want more information about these motherboards, don’t hesitate to click on the link that will send you to the dedicated brief.

The ROG Crosshair X670E Extreme:

We have already talked to you about it several times but this is the top of the range model currently unveiled by Asus. We have already detailed the tools on the PCB to meet the demands of overclockers.

The ROG Crosshair X670E Gene:

Certainly one of the surprises of last night’s announcements, with for the first time, the availability of a Gene version, therefore in Micro-ATX format, on a motherboard with an AMD chipset. We have detailed this motherboard in this article.

The ROG Strix X670E-I Gaming Wifi

Is your PC running out of space? Are you a fan of Mini-ITX motherboards? Then this ROG Strix X670E-I Gaming Wifi could be of interest to you. It is equipped with the ROG FPS-II card but also has a bundle of the new ROG Strix Hive.

Other motherboards also present:

Even if these are the three models that caught our attention via the news, our colleagues were also able to take pictures of the ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming Wifi. A card that should benefit from a lower price than the high-end models while offering something to enjoy in overclocking.

Another model, admittedly far from overclocking, was also present: the ProArt X670E-Creator WiFi. It offers broad connectivity, plenty of high-speed storage options and the distinctive professional style of the ProArt line, with two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and four integrated M.2 slots, two of which are wired as PCIe 5.0.

Finally, let’s talk about the Prime line. The trio of Asus Prime motherboards is ready to host the new AMD socket AM5 platform. At the top of the range is the Prime X670E-Pro WiFi. With DDR5 support, a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, and a PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot, it’s the perfect choice for anyone looking to assemble a next-generation PC. Wi-Fi 6E, a Realtek 2.5Gb Ethernet port, and a Thunderbolt 4 connector are added to its equipment.

It also includes intuitive features such as a pre-mounted I/O Shield back cover, PCIe slot Q-Release button for easy graphics card removal, and Q-LED diagnostic panel for easy troubleshooting.

Asus didn’t only unveiled motherboards, so let’s move on to the next page to see the other components that caught our attention or yours on our Discord live. We end with a video of the above mentioned motherboards and an interview with an engineer from Asus.

[nextpage title=”Other components: “] Other components have been the focus of Vertex and Jefforion during this morning.

The ROG Loki SFX-L 850W Platinum power supply:

The ROG Loki power supply includes the same high-quality components and features as the ROG Thor but in an ultra-compact SFX-L form factor. Even in its mini form factor, the ROG Loki is capable of powering high-performance GPUs in Mini-ITX PCs. It is PCIe 5.0 compatible, via an included 16-pin cable to provide up to 600 watts of power to PCIe 5.0 graphics cards.

Inside, two ROG heatsinks provide twice the surface area for efficient heat dispersion, while a 120mm axial fan with PWM control keeps noise and temperature levels down. The ROG Loki is 80 PLUS Platinum certified, with up to 92% efficiency for reduced heat and noise, as well as optimal reliability.

The ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ display:

The 42-inch ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ is designed for immersive desktop gaming and delivers 4K images with an overclocked refresh rate of 138 Hz. The OLED panel ensures deeper blacks, as well as stunning colors thanks to 98% DCI-P3 color space coverage and color accuracy with a Delta E < 2. The ultra-fast 0.1ms response time (GTG) further ensures an exceptional visual and gaming experience.

Unlike traditional glossy OLED displays, ROG OLED gaming monitors feature a special micro-textured anti-reflective coating that reduces glare and minimizes visual distractions. These displays also feature a freely adjustable panel brightness uniformity setting that keeps the screen brightness level constant to ensure a comfortable viewing experience, both when resizing bright white windows and during your gaming marathons.

Both monitors feature extensive connectivity, including DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC), HDMI 2.1, HDMI 2.0, a USB hub, and a tripod socket on top of the monitor. [nextpage title=”After the effort, the comfort: “] Here is a series of pictures from the end of the day that don’t fit in the previous categories. After this half-day spent in the Asus warehouse, Vertex and Jefferion went to the Gamescom but with the plan to come back at the end of the afternoon at Asus. Indeed, the day was not over, far from it. A barbecue was organized in the evening followed by a live influencer and then ended with a ROG Party!

Thanks to Asus for the invitation to share this ROG event day in Cologne during Gamescom! Now, we can’t wait to start testing these different motherboards in the coming weeks.
