Head over to X and @TechEpiphanyYT ‘s account for another compilation of sales figures from the MindFactory merchant. This time we’re going to take a look at the CPU section, where there are some interesting things to see. At the German retailer, AMD accounts for 92% of total sales, leaving Intel far behind!
AMD takes 92% of CPU sales at MindFactory!
According to the figures compiled by the merchant, AMD accounted for an overwhelming share of MindFactory’s market: 92.16% to be precise, while Intel accounted for just 7.84%. In terms of average selling price, the red processors are more expensive than Intel’s, with an ASP (Average Selling Price) of €352 for the reds compared with €290 for the blues.
Naturally, with 23,615 CPUs sold, the figure generated for the shop is enormous: €8,300,674, or 93.45% of the sales figure achieved by the seller. In contrast, Intel’s processors sold just 2,010 units, generating sales of €581,959, or 6.55% of the total.
In concrete terms, AMD’s most popular CPUs are the X3D models, led by the new Ryzen 7 9800X3D (tested here) with 8,390 sales. According to TechpowerUp, this alone accounts for 87% of Ryzen 9000 sales. Next up is the Ryzen 5 7600X3D (the one you can’t have…) with 2,430 sales, followed by the Ryzen 7 7800X3D (1,640 sales) in third place. Unfortunately for Intel, the best-selling CPU remains the Core i5 14600KF, with 150 units sold.
However, these figures should be treated with caution, as they do not represent the market as a whole. More generally, AMD does not have a 92% share of the processor market, clearly not. Last November, we told you that the Reds had a 30% share according to a study by Mercury Research! What’s more, we’re curious to know the dynamics behind this reseller, since its sales figures are totally separated from reality.
