Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F: AMD officially launches its CPUs!

Ryzen 8000FAs a reminder, the 8700F is a CPU with a total of 8 cores and 16 threads. It boasts frequencies of up to 5 GHz boost and 22 MB cache memory. However, this model is distinguished by the presence of an NPU with 16 TOPS of power. This makes it one of the first AI-dedicated CPUs on the market.

The Ryzen 5 8400F is much wiser. It features a hybrid core configuration, with four Zen 4C energy-saving cores and two performance cores. In terms of frequency, this model boasts a 4.7 GHz boost and 22 MB cache. However, it does not feature an NPU like its big brother.

In terms of power consumption/heating, things seem to be under control, with a claimed TDP of 65W. This allows these models to be supplied with a Wraith Stealth radbox, unlike higher-performance CPUs supplied without a heatsink.

All that remains is to talk about official sales prices, as AMD unveils the 8700F at $269, compared with $169 for the 8400F. Prices respectively $60 and $10 lower than the 8700G and 8500G. You can already find them in our stores at around €300 and €200.
