AMD also lowers RX 7800 XT prices

The RX 7800 XT is now under a bit of strain with the arrival of Nvidia’s RTX 40 Super. But above all, it was hampered by a new member of its own family, the Radeon RX 7900 GRE, launched at $549 when the 7800XT was priced at $499. However, a downward trend is underway, currently perceptible on the American market, where the card is now positioned at $469. Some time ago, AMD also lowered the price of its RX 7700 XT, but it has to be said that the 7800XT version was selling rather well, so the price cut didn’t seem necessary until then.

In Europe in general, and in France in particular, you won’t find the RX 7800 XT at these price levels. However, we mustn’t forget that VAT (20%) often clouds our judgment. So, if we take this painful VAT into account, where exactly do we stand? Well, we can see that some RX 7800XT models have taken a beating recently, such as the Sapphire Pulse RX 7800 XT Gaming:

However, not all manufacturers seem to have fully adjusted their prices yet. It’s easy to see why this board sells so well, even among our European neighbors such as Germany’s Mindfactory:

The RX 7800 XT is considered a relevant choice for the 1440P, and its success has led several manufacturers to offer variations , such as Acer recently.

The fact that the RX 7800 XT is so successful is logical from a value point of view. The AMD card not only offers gaming performance comparable to an RTX 4070, but also 4 GB more VRAM. VRAM capacity is becoming an increasingly important factor when buying a GPU, as modern games continue to demand more and more video memory.

More importantly, the RX 7800 XT costs considerably less than the RTX 4070. Even with its Super version, Nvidia’s price differential remains significant.
