After Gigabyte’s leaked range of motherboards, it’s now the turn of ASRock’s X870 and X870E boards to be unveiled. Thanks to @momomo_us, we can see what the brand has in store for us with this new generation of boards!
X870E: three cards for the brand!
When it comes to X870E cards, we’re dealing with the best of the best from Asrock. Equipped with this chipset are these:
- Taichi
- Taichi Lite
- Nova
As a reminder, the Taichi range is the brand’s top of the range, with references in E-ATX format. The brand is not letting down the gear-based design found on the I/O cover or the chipset heatsink. With this, we find the ‘ Lite ‘ version, a lighter version with a simpler design and no aRGB lighting. The goal is to reduce costs without sacrificing performance.
Elsewhere, still on the subject of high-end cards, the Nova series is finally available on an AMD socket. Some time ago, the brand unveiled its Nova range, but on socket LGA-1700, with nothing for AM5. Good news this time: the card appears to be very complete, with a very neat design and some nice features like the debug LED and what looks like a simplified unlock button for the graphics card’s PCIe slot.
X870: four cards!
The X870 chipset features four references, and the Phantom Gaming, Steel Legend and Pro RS series have been renewed.
Of course, the Phantom Gaming series is aimed at gamers, and we should see dedicated features. These include advanced network traffic management and dedicated USB ports for the keyboard/mouse, for example.
Finally, there are the more affordable Steel Legend and Pro RS series. These ranges offer everything you need to set up your configuration with 2.5 GbE networking, PCIe x16 5.0 and M.2 in PCIe 5.0 x4.
In the meantime, Asrock has published its product sheets on its website, available below:
