We leave cooling aside to focus on the motherboard sector. This time, ASRock Rack regales with its X570D4U-2L2T/BCM a model designed for servers, all in micro-ATX format!

X570D4U-2L2T/BCM: a micro-ATX server motherboard!

ASRock Rack X570D4U-2L2T/BCMAs we said, it’s a micro-ATX card with an AM4 socket and an X570 chipset. Visually, it’s quite poor with basic aluminum heat sinks, a green PCB and blue and white memory slots… But clearly, that’s not what we are looking for here, since we want reliability and stability.

In short, the connectivity highlights four DDR4 memory slots for a memory capacity of 128 GB. The card can handle both ECC and non-ECC RAM, all at a maximum frequency of 3200 MT/s.

Otherwise, the PCIe part has a x16 4.0 connector connected to the CPU as well as a second one in x8. Finally, a small PCIe x1 4.0 is included. Of course, the standard will be adjusted according to the processor used.

The storage section features a total of eight SATA III ports, including one SATA DOM. Otherwise, we will find a total of M.2 in PCIe 4.0/3.0 configurable in SATA.

Finally, at the back, we find many Ethernet ports, five in fact. Thus, two of them benefit from an Intel i210 chip, and two others from a Broadcom BCM57416 chip in 10 gigabit. The last one will serve as a management module via a Realtek RTL8211E chip. Otherwise, we find a serial port, a VGA, two USB 3.2 Gen2 and a UID button.
