WRX80D8-NL: ready for Threadripper Pro 3000WX!
Clearly, with this model, ASRock Rack intends its card for workstations and other servers of all kinds. Nevertheless, this new card has a standard ATX format with an SP3 socket oriented at 90°. However, this does not prevent the socket from being surrounded by 8 DIMM slots holding up to 256 GB of RAM, all clocked at up to 3200 MT/s.
The rest of the connectivity features seven PCIe x16 4.0 directly connected to the CPU. It must be said that this range of processors has a large number of PCIe lines: 128. It will also be possible to extend the PCIe lines via two OCuLink PCIe 4.0 x4.
As far as storage is concerned, we can’t miss the four angled SATA III. The M.2 are also present with two slots in PCIe 4.0 x4 supporting SSD M.2 22110 max. Finally, if desired, up to eight additional SATA can be added via the two OCuLinks.
Finally, we’ll mention the power supply part featuring two 8-pin EPS12V and one 24-pin ATX. The rear connectivity is quite basic and is satisfied with a serial port, a VGA (via ASPEED AST2500) and two USB 3.2 Gen1. Finally, the network port is driven by a Realtek RTL8211E chip and is dedicated to IPMI functions.
Again, for this type of hardware, the price is unknown.
