One thing is sure, there are still product launches that make me excited and the announcement of the arrival of this waterblock EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB – 1700 Limited Edition for Intel processors of 12 and 13 generation is part of it! EK will propose in collaboration with the German overclocker Der8auer a turnkey solution to uncap your processor and then offer it a Direct Die cooling.

The idea is to remove the IHS from the processor in order to cool the DIE of the processor directly and thus offer a more targeted cooling and at the same time, cooler temperatures.

A limited edition of 100 pieces:

This limited edition of the CPU Direct Die Velocity² water block has a nickel-plated brass top then gold-plated imitating the wafer in which the i9-12900K processor is hidden. Attention, only a hundred pieces should be available for this limited edition and numbered from 1 to 100.

This limited edition priced at 356 euros have the following bundle: the waterblock EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB 1700 Limited Edition, the tool to delid your processor, the mounting frame for the processor that replaces the one on your motherboard, the backplate EK-Exact Mount, two small foam frames to contain the liquid metal and a syringe Conductonaut liquid metal brand Thermal Grizzly.

Availability is scheduled for February with pre-orders launching today. Be aware that some of the accessories that come with this limited edition bundle can be purchased individually. Needless to say, I’m trying to resist the urge to pre-order it so I can share this test with you in a few weeks!
