The Patriot brand announces a new series of SSDs with the Viper VPR400, a range of two products. Indeed, this new line offers only two models: a 512GB version and a second one of 1TB.
Viper VPR400: two RGB SSDs from Patriot!
With this new series, the brand puts forward two SSDs with capacities of 512 GB and 1 TB. The latter adopt an M.2 format and have a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. Likewise, we will not miss the pre-installed heatsink with RGB lighting. Of course, compatibility with the ecosystems of Asus, MSI, Gigabyte and ASRock is guaranteed.
In terms of performance, we find a sequential reading of 4.6 GB / s. For writing, the small model shows 3.6 GB / s against 4.4 GB / s for the 1 TB. On the other hand, the random performances are the same, whatever the version: 600k IOPS in reading and 500k IOPS in writing.
We finish by talking quickly about the endurance which is 800 TBW for the 1 TB against 400 TBW for the 512 GB.
For the moment, the prices are not known yet. On the other hand, we know that the launch will be at the end of June. Finally, the warranty is five years.
