Apparently, motherboard manufacturers are increasingly considering DDR5 memory for their H610 boards. The reasons? More and more affordable memory in the face of DDR4 and Intel’s desire to curb the production of products geared towards older technologies/standards.

H610: towards motherboards equipped with DDR5?

Via VideoCardz we learn that Intel plans to reduce the production of its old generation boards like the B660 and Z690 which are still very present. However, for the H610, nothing, and it must be said that it is a chipset that has not found a replacement. You will have to look hard to find the H710.

So, in order to maintain some novelty on this entry-level platform, it is likely that DDR5 cards will be released. It must be said that this memory standard has become more affordable. For example, a Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB kit (32GB 6000 MT/s), is now priced at €202 compared to more than €500 last May. This is also true for the slightly less premium Ripjaws S5, whose selling price is 148 € against more than 350 € at launch.

For all these reasons, it is not impossible to see small entry-level cards equipped with DDR5 memory slots. This is currently the case with AMD and the models equipped with A620 chipset… Even if DDR4 is still more affordable.
