There will be B650E motherboards

This is a relatively reliable information that comes to confirm that an AMD B650E (“Extreme”) chipset does exist. The B650E chipset, like the X670E, will support PCIe Gen5 technology for the graphics card and storage. The classic B650 version supports PCIe 5 either for graphics or storage (or more precisely for the PCIe slot or the M.2 slot). AMD B650E

An “Extreme” B650 chipset is in the works

The B650E motherboards will have a Promontory 21 chipset, thus reducing the number of PCIe lines available. But these boards should allow a “price” alternative to the X670/670E. Until then, there were several rumors about an evolution of this chipset with cards like the Tachyon. The stolen photo published by Алексей (@wxnod) seems to confirm these info.

This will add additional references but also increase the price of intermediate motherboards composed with Bx50 chipsets until now considered the most interesting for their performance / price ratio. We will have to see where the real differences between a B650E and an X670 are…

It is very likely that we will have confirmations for all this information in the next few hours. Indeed, AMD will make the official presentation of these new Ryzen 7000 processors during a livestream on its Youtube channel today. You can follow the livestream on our dedicated page here.
