The Ryzen 7000 in 65W TDP are out!

We already told you about the Ryzen 7000 non-X in last December. Well, you know what? AMD is taking advantage of CES 2023 to officially announce its processors. On the program, we find three models with a reduced TDP of 65W. This is enough to lower the power consumption!

Ryzen 7000 non-X, reduced TDP!

In broad terms, these non-X chips offer the same features as their X counterparts… At least on the number of cores/threads. Thus, the Ryzen 9 7900 displays 12c/24t, the Ryzen 7 7700 goes up to 8c/16t while the Ryzen 5 7600 offers 6c/12t. The same goes for the amount of cache memory, respectively 76 MB, 40 MB and 38 MB.

On the other hand, they highlight a reduced TDP of 65W. As a reminder, the 7900X is 170W of TDP, when we are at 105W for the 7600X and 7700X. However, in order to reduce the thermal envelope, it is necessary to reduce the frequencies. The processors lose between 100 MHz and 1 GHz on the base and boost frequencies.

In terms of performance, compared to the Ryzen 5000, we can say that it holds up well. AMD ‘s boards position these new references ahead of the older generation chips in all scenarios. The question would be how they stack up against the Ryzen 7000X. Nevertheless, we see that the 7900 shows up to 31% better than a 5900X on DOTA 2 and +48% in application on Corona Render. This is more or less the same pattern for the other models.

As for the power consumption, the figures are interesting since a 7900 allows to consume up to 47% less compared to the 7900X. On Cinebench R23, the first configuration shows 177W against 285W for the one equipped with the X labeled CPU.

It only remains to talk about the prices that confirm the previous leak. The small Ryzen 5 7600 comes in at $229 against $329 for the Ryzen 7 7700. Of course, the most expensive model remains the Ryzen 9 7900 with its $429. Finally, for the purchase of a processor, you will receive a Wraith cooler in the bundle. If the 7900 and 7700 arrive with a Wraith Prism, the largest of AMD, the 7600 lands with the small Wraith Stealth.
