In China, mobile-on-desktop hardware is clearly on a roll. This time, it’s the turn of Ryzen AI Max processors to land on mini-ITX motherboards. However, upgrading is out of the question here: everything between CPU and RAM is soldered together. However, you should still be able to assemble high-performance configurations. We’re talking about CPU systems with up to 32 threads and up to 128 GB RAM!

Basically, the manufacturer offers mobile AMD processors, in this case from the Ryzen AI Max series, and welds them onto mini-ITX motherboards. The set is available in several configurations, with processors ranging from six to sixteen cores. The set belongs to the Strix Halo family and benefits from Zen 5 architecture.

In terms of performance, it should perform well, all the more so as the chips benefit from a significant graphics component. We’re talking about a RADEON 8060S with up to 40 compute units, or 2560 stream processors, all based on RDNA 3.5 architecture.

That’s more than an RX 9060 XT in terms of the number of cores, and to support it all, the manufacturer has added a total of 128 GB of unified memory, in this case LPDDR5X-8000. This RAM will be used by the processors, the iGPU and the NPU, all mounted on a mini-ITX motherboard.

The latter offers full connectivity, with two PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots and an M.2 2230 for a WiFi module if required. Otherwise, rear connectivity features USB-A, DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA and a serial port. Finally, the network part is entrusted to a 1 GbE Ethernet.

On the other hand, given the specification sheet, there’s a good chance that this type of configuration isn’t intended for the general public.
