Ryzen 7 7800X3D is a Christmas hit

We’ve talked several times about the calamitous start-up of the Ryzen 7000. But following an aggressive repositioning of prices, some references have found their place. Such is the case with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which was a big hit right up to the final stretch before Christmas.

Ryzen 7 7800X3D outsells its Intel rival 11 to 1 before Christmas

According to figures posted by TechEpiphany reflecting sales in the last week before Christmas at Mindfactory (Germany), the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is the most popular processor, beating all other references by a wide margin. It’s also worth noting that the 5800X3D in socket AM4 continues the farewell tour of the old red socket with very respectable figures. This processor is even the second best-selling reference in the same channel in recent days.

But what’s fascinating (or worrying) is that AMD occupy all the top spots in this ranking, with the 7800X3D selling 11 times more than its Intel counterpart (the 14700k). We can criticize Intel’s 14th gen in many respects, but it would be dishonest to question its performance. So it’s on the basis of price positioning that AMD is doing well at the end of 2023… and Intel should be very concerned about this.
