Ryzen 5 9600X leaks on Cinebench R23!

As you may have seen over the last few days, several leaks concerning Ryzen processors have surfaced. The release of the Ryzen 9600X and 9700X has been pushed back to August 8, while the Ryzen 9900X and 9950X are now scheduled for August 15.

Today, it’s the Ryzen 5 9600X’s turn to make news, as a photo of this processor was posted on Twitter by leaker @9950pro.

We have no information on whether the CPU is overclocked or not, nor on the motherboard used, the RAM or the cooling system, so this is to be taken with a pinch of salt. However, single-core and multi-core performance is very encouraging compared to the Ryzen 7000.

The 9600X on Cinebench R23, according to leaks, does 17,037 in multi-core and 2,244 in single-core.

We’re talking about an improvement of 18% in single-core and 13% in multi-core, since the stock 7600X averages around 1,900 points in single-core and around 15,000 points in multi-core.

The performance gain in single-core is quite significant and very encouraging, but less so in multi-core, bearing in mind that Zen 5 is not a revolution, but an improved Zen 4 base.

Zen 5 retains the same number of cores, frequency and cache.

All in all, we’re looking at a 16% improvement in IPC and an optimized chip design to reduce heating, which was a real problem for the 7000 series processors, which often reached temperature limits.
