AMD’s current range of graphics cards is sorely lacking. We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again: between the RX 7600 and RX 7900, the gap between the two is abysmal. The series is in urgent need of a new model to bridge this huge gap between the two ranges. For that, we’re waiting for the RX 7700 (XT) and RX 7800 (XT)!
RX 7700 & 7800: launch at the end of the third quarter?
For some time now, rumors and leaks surrounding these cards have been intensifying. Two days ago, we told you about a potential launch window, while yesterday, 3DMark results were on the loose!

Today, we’re once again dealing with suspicions about the launch period for the cards. JonPeddie reports that at least two cards are planned by AMD. And once again, the GamesCom date is indicated as the launch window. However, we don’t know whether this is a paper launch with hardware presentation or a launch with stock availability, etc.
Benchlife reports that the 7700 XT and 7800 XT could well see the light of day in early September… In addition to the RX 7900 GRE we mentioned here. But as far as this card is concerned, there is, a priori, no chance of seeing it arrive in Europe.
As for specifications, it’s hard to predict exactly what we’ll be dealing with. Nevertheless, we can reckon on a heavily modified Navi 31 GPU for the 7800, as opposed to a Navi 32 for the 7700, while the 7600 already uses a full Navi 33. As for VRAM, we can expect an RX 7800 equipped with 16 GB of memory, versus 12 GB for the 7700.
