RX 7600, already equivalent performance to the RX 6700 XT?

Rumors are finally starting to emerge about the RX 7600, the card from AMD that should occupy the mid-range sector against NVIDIA’s RTX 4060/Ti. And the first feedbacks show performances at least equivalent to the RX 6700 XT.

RX 7600: as good as the RX 6700 XT and less energy consuming!

Radeon RX 6700 XT - RX 7700 - RX 7600The first returns of the RX 7600 are starting to arrive, Moore’s Law is Dead was able to speak with someone who had access to the card. Apparently, AMD’s upcoming card already seems to offer performance on par with the RX 6700 XT. The latter, coupled with development drivers, would show gains of around 11% better than the RX 6650 XT, all with lower power consumption. Indeed, it is whispered that the new generation model has a consumption of 175W against 185W to 190W for the 6650 XT.

But the card is still in the development stage. Between now and the launch, with more mature drivers, it is not impossible to get a few percent more performance. In fact, it’s not too far-fetched to hope for a card that rivals the RX 6750 XT, as TechpowerUp points out, a model that plays elbows with the RTX 3070 in 1080p.

Other information points to a card with a total of 8GB of memory as well as a boost frequency of at least 2600 MHz.

Also in connection with Moore’s Law is Dead we learn that the card could well land on May 25. The launch could also be at the RTX 4070… That is to say, with tests/reviews available one day in advance for the models respecting the MSRP, on May 24. As for the press copies, the first shipments could take place as early as May 15 with serious leak risks from that moment on!
