The RTX 50 Super series is taking shape, with new leaks continuing to suggest a release before the festive season. But NVIDIA is keen to boost sales, and is reportedly ready to align the prices of the “Super” models with those of the RTX 50s already launched. Thus, the RTX 5070 Super would remain at $549, the 5070 Ti Super at $749, and the 5080 Super at $999.
RTX 50 Super: 50% more Vram for the same price?
In return, the Greens are reportedly boosting video memory by 50%: 12 to 18 GB for the 5070/5070 Super, then 24 GB for the 5070 Ti/5080 Super. In addition, GDDR7 would rise to 30-32 Gb/s depending on the model, while buses would remain at 192/256-bit. In addition, the TGP will increase significantly, up to 415 W on the 5080 Super. On the computing side, only the 5070 Super would gain a small 4% in CUDA Cores (6400 vs. 6144), with the 5070 Ti/5080 Super retaining their initial configurations. While the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER and RTX 5080 SUPER GPUs would have the same number of CUDA cores as their predecessors, clock frequencies could benefit from the refinement of Blackwell chips and be higher. With the increase in Vram and GPU frequencies, we can therefore expect a logically higher TGP. The leak from RedGamingTech details future RTX 50s as follows:
- RTX 5070 Super: 6400 CUDA, 18 GB GDDR7 28 Gb/s, 192-bit, 275 W, $549.
- RTX 5070 Ti Super: 8960 CUDA, 24 GB 30 Gb/s, 256-bit, 350 W, $749.
- RTX 5080 Super: 10752 CUDA, 24 GB 32 Gb/s, 256-bit, 415 W, $999.
- Note that the RTX 5060 and 5060ti are not mentioned in this leak.
Is Nvidia ready to change its pricing policy with the RTX 50 super?
If this leak proves to be accurate, it could mark the first inflexion in Nvidia’s strategy. Indeed, since the launch of the RTX 50, the Greens have been trumpeting that all is well, that sales are excellent (and the figures prove them right). However, the discontent is real. Clearly, demand for the current generation is waning, and AMD’s competing solutions are attracting interest.
Should this prove true, the new pricing policy could revive consumer interest, and the RTX 50 SUPER series would become an attractive opportunity for PC gamers. Gamers will have access to graphics cards with optimized features, at no extra cost compared to initial prices, with each GPU seeing its VRAM capacity increased by 50%. Finally, it should be noted that for European consumers, the dollar has fallen sharply, which could also contribute to the good news. But let’s not get too carried away: the autumn should bring us some confirmation on this subject.
