ASUS announces a new series of AIO watercooling kits with its ROG Strix LC IV. The aim of this series is to reduce the number of cables in a PC case as much as possible. This series is only available in a 360 mm format, so other heatsink sizes are out.

With this series of kits, ASUS offers watercooling kits available in 360 mm only. However, one of the most striking features is the presence of an IPS screen on the pump cover. In this case, the display has a diagonal of 5.08″ and a resolution of 720 x 720. Alternatively, kits without display are also available, featuring instead an RGB-lit ASUS logo.

But the big news here is the cable-free mounting. Thanks to a new connector mounted directly next to the motherboard socket, you can control lighting, pump and fan speed, as well as the screen display. This connector is also found on the pump cover, and will come into contact with the motherboard connector when the pump is in place on the socket. As for ventilation, the cabling will be concealed inside the hose duct.

Otherwise, we recommend the use of short pipes to allow radiators to be mounted at the top of the case. If you have a compact case that doesn’t allow 360 mm radiators to be mounted at the top, this is clearly not the AIO for you. Likewise, to take full advantage of this kit’s features, you’ll need a motherboard equipped with the AIO_POGO connector, otherwise you’ll almost certainly need an adapter that ASUS must supply as an accessory.

In short, all that remains now is to find out the retail price, launch date and availability.
