After part 1, it’s time for part 2 of The Last of Us. Studio Naughty Dog has just published the system requirements for the game, and it’s clear that you’ll need a respectable PC. Let’s just hope the game isn’t as much of a purge as the first part was in terms of optimisation.

The Last of Us Part 2: do you have the right configuration?

The Last of Us part 2 configsIn terms of minimum configuration, the game will only require an old processor with four cores, and no hyperthreading. The graphics section is ridiculous, with only GTX 1650 and RX 6600 XT mentioned, while only 16GB of RAM is required. It should also be pointed out that this is for gaming in 720p at 30 fps only, with low graphics detail.

If you want 1080p at 60 FPS with medium detail, you’ll need a 6-core CPU with Ryzen 5 3600 and/or Core i5 8600. The graphics section goes up a notch and mentions an RTX 3060 as well as an RX 5700 and still 16 GB of RAM.

These 16 GB of memory are also suggested in 1440p, where we’re aiming for 60 FPS with high detail. What’s more, this time you’ll need an 8-core processor with a Core i7 9700K or a Ryzen 7 3700X. On the graphics side, the RTX 3070 and RX 6800 are mentioned.

Finally, we end with gaming pushed to the max in UHD, with detail set to very high with the aim at 60 fps. Here, an 8-core CPU is still required, but it will have to be slightly more recent: Core i7 11700/Ryzen 7 5700X. The graphics section mentions RTX 5080 and RX 7900 XT, which is normal, given that we’re in UHD. And finally, the RAM required has been increased to 32 GB!

Of course, the studio mentions SSD-based storage with 150GB of free space. As for the system, you’ll need Windows 10 or 11 version 1909 or later.

Of course, the title will also support upscaling technologies such as DLSS 3, FSR 3.1 and FSR4. By the look of it, there’s no XeSS, too bad for Intel.

As a reminder, The Last of Us part 2 is scheduled for launch in early April, on the 3rd to be precise.
