We were lucky enough to be able to see it, test it and talk to the Razer team at CES 2024. The Blade 18 is now officially launched. Let’s face it, we’re always divided when it comes to talking about Razer. On the one hand, we can’t help but “spot” the big Apple-style marketing tricks (and the prices that go with them), while on the other, we’re often charmed by the design of the brand’s products.

Razer Blade 18: exclusive and beautiful

The most striking thing about the Blade 18 is its size. You really have to pinch yourself to be sure you’re looking at an 18″ laptop. With a thickness of just 21.99 mm, the Blade 18 is particularly slim, especially when you consider that it’s equipped with a 14th-generation Intel® Core™ i9-14900HX processor, and its graphics card can go up to an RTX 4090…Obviously, you’ll need to have a strong bank account, since prices start at €3599 for a QHD version with RTX 4070, and end up at €5399 if you switch to the 4K 200Hz version, RTX 4090 and co.

For these prices, Razer claims you get the power and comfort of the best desktop computers. The cooling system in particular promises performance (and it has to be, given the on-board hardware) and silence. Featuring the thinnest fan blades in its class, the Blade 18’s advanced cooling system ensures maximum graphics performance in a slim chassis. Incorporating the largest vapor chamber ever designed by Razer, the Blade 18’s system features 3 fans to dissipate heat quickly and efficiently. This guarantees optimum performance, even during intense gaming sessions or demanding 3D rendering.

Another highlight will be connectivity, particularly in terms of multi-display capability, since the Blade 18 claims to be the world’s first notebook equipped with Thunderbolt 5 technology. For the record, Thunderbolt 5 enables users to connect several high-resolution displays simultaneously, as well as high-speed external storage devices and all-in-one docking stations.
