[CES 2024] A laptop vapor chamber from Razer!

0

At CES, Razer is obviously on hand to tell us all about its latest hardware developments. And among the sept up disputes and peripheral wall on display, there’s a little something that caught our eye: a laptop cooling system based on a vapor chamber.

Razer presents its new laptop vapor chamber!

Laptop cooling systems often behave as follows:

  • A copper base captures heat from the CPU/GPU
  • The heat is then routed to fins via flat heat pipes
  • Fans blow over the fins to cool the machine

What Razer presents here, however, is a large vapor chamber that appears to cover both CPU and GPU. Naturally, this chamber is made entirely of copper and contains a liquid that evaporates at low temperatures. Last but not least, copper fins can be found at the ends of this chamber. Their number has been increased.

Finally, cooling is provided by a pair of radial fans, each with 67 blades. They are claimed to be silent, yet capable of moving a large volume of air through said fins.

Finally, it’s a cooling mode that seems to be making a comeback, particularly with Cooler Master.
