A new motherboard from Asus, this time for the professional sector. The brand announces its Pro WS W680M-Ace SE, a special model in micro-ATX format… Unusual!
Pro WS W680M-Ace SE: a pro card in µATX format!
This board is in micro-ATX format. It features a LGA-1700 socket and a W680 chipset.
As you can see, the board’s layout is quite distinctive, with the socket and RAM slots oriented at 90°. Speaking of memory, this model can accommodate up to 192 GB of ECC-type RAM running at 4800 MT/s.
Otherwise, the rest of the connectivity is based on a PCIe x16 5.0 connector, backed up by two smaller PCIe x1 3.0 connectors. Otherwise, the storage section features four SATA III and two M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4. There’s also a SlimSAS in PCIe 4.0 or SATA.
On the rear, the card features VGA, HDMI and DisplayPort video outputs. There are also four USB-A 3.2 Gen1 and two USB (A and C) 3.2 Gen2. The network section includes two Intel-chip-driven 2.5 GbE Ethernet ports, plus a third 1 GbE port for remote management functions. Last but not least, there are the audio connectors.
For the moment, this model is not on sale, although we’re curious to know the price.
