You’ve probably heard about the recent release of NZXT’s new H6 case, a new model available in two versions: a classic version without fans and another that comes pre-equipped with fans. We received both models for testing, and they impressed us—not only with their cooling performance but also, and above all, with a design that’s been thoroughly revamped compared to the previous generation.

While waiting for this review to be published, we wanted to take things a step further by comparing the new generation side by side with the old one. We’ve mentioned differences compared to the previous version, but what exactly are those differences? So we got our hands on the older model—specifically, the Flow RGB version released in 2023, three years ago now.

While both cases stay true to NZXT’s philosophy, featuring a dual-chamber design and a panoramic front panel, this new model boasts a fundamentally different design. While the complete redesign of its aesthetics and the addition of improved ventilation seem to be the major changes, certain small details that were missing from the first model are now present. These changes are ultimately far more numerous than they appear at first glance.

But as you can see below, now that they’re side by side, these differences become more apparent. These added features come alongside NZXT’s decision not to change the dimensions of this new version. An understandable choice, given the growing demand for relatively compact setups.

So let’s see what this new generation actually offers over the old one!

NZXT H6: The Differences Between the Two Versions.

A Modernized Design

The first difference—and the one that immediately catches the eye—is the design of this new case. Its predecessor, the H6 Flow RGB, used two tempered glass panels assembled at right angles. When it was released, the “aquarium-style” case trend was just taking off, and this type of case was highly praised for its design. But more than three years later, with the market flooded with this type of case, the two-panel aquarium-style design no longer makes as big an impression. The new H6 RGB+, which is still an aquarium-style case, stands out by featuring a single curved panel. This gives it a cleaner look and offers better visibility of the components without the cut where the two panels used to meet.

Beyond the final result, this design choice usually comes at a significant cost. But NZXT has still managed to keep the price reasonable. The price is set at €100 for the fanless version and €200 for its most feature-rich version, known as RGB+ (which includes a controller and seven fans, including two 360mm frames that minimize cable clutter and enhance the visual appeal).

NZXT has also taken this opportunity to refine the case’s overall design by rounding off all the edges, including the glass panel. In our view, this design makes the case look less aggressive.

The rear and top panels of the case are more open, improving both the style and the cooling potential. However, this also leads to dust accumulating much more quickly inside the PC.

The NZXT logo is now integrated into the base of the case and even features subtle backlighting.

NZXT H6 2026: A More Advanced Chassis

Without drastically changing the overall design, NZXT has slightly updated its chassis to accommodate the size requirements of modern setups.

This results in expanded compatibility with graphics cards, with a maximum length of 390 mm—up from 365 mm on the H6 Flow RGB. Following the same logic, NZXT has now natively integrated a GPU bracket into the case. This is a detail that has become much more important today given the dramatic increase in GPU weight. It helps reduce the load on your PCIe slot, keeps the graphics card securely in place when moving the case, and eliminates the need for an external bracket that would clutter the interior.

Another important development is compatibility with motherboards featuring reversed connectors. The H6 RGB+ supports the BTF, Project Zero, and Project Stealth standards, allowing for an even cleaner look with a more streamlined interior. The rear offers ample space for effective cable management.

The case also offers greater cooling flexibility with an updated design for the lower mounting slot. Now, the case can accommodate three 120mm fans, compared to two 140mm fans in the previous generation. This allows for better airflow to the graphics card.

On our RGB+ version, this translates to a three-fan setup with a total width of 360mm.

Redesigned ventilation and filters

The H6 RGB+ retains the airflow orientation of the H6 Flow RGB but takes optimization a step further.

The case now supports up to 10 120 mm fans. The new open-frame design also allows for much more open mesh areas, resulting in improved airflow throughout the entire case.

NZXT has also addressed a feature often overlooked or forgotten in cases: the dust filters. In this new generation, they are now fully removable, particularly the one located at the bottom of the case, which was absent in the previous version. They’re now much easier to remove and clean than before, thanks to a design that allows you to remove and reinstall the panels without touching a single screw. It’s a subtle improvement, but one that clearly makes daily maintenance of your PC easier.

An Improved Assembly Experience

Finally, NZXT has improved the case’s overall ergonomics. In addition to the side panels being easier to remove, cable management has also been better thought out with a few extra cable ties. The space behind the motherboard, meanwhile, is relatively similar to the previous version, which was already quite spacious.

On the RGB+ version, the design features better integration of components with the RGB lighting, thanks to next-generation fans and simplified RGB cabling via the hub provided on the back of the case.

So, what are our takeaways from the NZXT H6 2026 after this first look?

With its new H6 case, NZXT hasn’t settled for a mere cosmetic update. The manufacturer has improved the chassis by adding features that were previously missing, while retaining the elements that made the H6 a success. It retains a compact dual-chamber design capable of accommodating any build configuration and featuring excellent ventilation. But upon closer inspection, it’s clear that virtually every aspect of the product has undergone a major overhaul.

The new model offers a much more premium design thanks to its one-piece curved glass panel. It also features screw-free panels, allowing for very quick disassembly to perform PC maintenance. It also features improved compatibility with recent components, particularly for graphics cards, thanks to the inclusion of GPU support and a longer maximum length. The cooling system has also been upgraded, featuring next-generation fans and, most importantly, expanding the bottom mounting space to 360 mm. Compared to 280 mm in the previous generation, this change allows more cool air to reach your graphics card—all without increasing the case’s overall length.

For owners of the previous-generation H6, the upgrade isn’t necessarily essential. That older model was already an excellent case, especially for components from three years ago. However, for a new purchase or a new build, this new H6 model is the natural choice. It allows you to accommodate a larger graphics card, BTF (rear-panel connector) motherboards, and makes maintenance easier. And above all, it offers better airflow—which is important given that the latest-generation components often tend to run hotter.

This new case is definitely a favorite of ours, both in terms of aesthetics and features.
