Noctua launches the NF-A12x25 G2 chromax.black. This is the black version of its new-generation 120 mm high-end fan. As a reminder, the company recently shared a teaser for this new product. We won’t have to wait long to see it arrive. On the other hand, you’ll need to budget accordingly – yes, it’s not an affordable fan!

A top-of-the-range mill:
As usual, Noctua takes its original product and makes it available in a black version. This version remains identical to the original brown/beige model, except for the color. What’s more, this means that the brand has also succeeded in taming the behavior of the black pigments used in the polymer used to produce its fans.
In any case, this model showcases a mill packed with technology, starting with the blades. Their shape is designed to maximize airflow, static pressure and reduce noise. The blades also pass very close to the frame, with a gap of just 0.5 mm! The frame is also fitted with silentblocks to minimize parasitic vibrations during operation.
The technical specifications are the same as those of the brown/beige version, with a maximum speed of 1800 rpm, an air flow of 63.15 CFM and a static pressure of 3.14 mmH2O.
The accessories section is also complete, and includes a splitter, a resistor to reduce operating speed and maximize silence, an extension lead, screws and silicone nipples to avoid damaging the frame. There’s even a special gasket for mounting on a watercooling radiator.
A bill of €35 for a single unit, €65 for a double pack!
The retail price is a hefty €35 each, and €65 in a double pack. Clearly, it won’t be difficult to find something cheaper, but what about efficiency or noise generation? As it is, our tests have shown that they offer a serious positioning on the performance/noise ratio!
