NM800 Pro: a Lexar SSD in PCIe 4.0 x4!

Lexar announces a new series of SSD with its NM800 Pro. A range of three models with capacities up to 2Tb. However, unlike Corsair or Gigabyte, it is not PCIe 5.0.

Lexar NM800 ProOn the program, the brand announces three capacities with models of 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB. Each model comes in M.2 format and is offered without or with a heat sink for a small additional cost.

Internally, we learn that the brand has a 3D NAND TLC memory chip. As for the controller, it is difficult to say who operates here. However, Lexar communicates on a model engraved in 12 nm to reduce power consumption and extend the life of a laptop.

Concerning the performances, they are announced at 7,5 Gb/s in sequential reading against 6,5 Gb/s in writing.

For the price, the most accessible model is announced at $99.99 in 512 GB without heatsink. Then it goes up crescendo: $169.99 and $279.99 for the 2Tb version. With heatsink, prices start at $109.99, then $179.99 for 1Tb and $299.99 for 2Tb. Note that compatibility with the PS5 is assured, even with the version equipped with a more elaborate cooling system.
