A little bit of communication from MSI about the Ryzen 7 9850X3D? Come on! So, the brand has announced support for this future processor, whose embargo is set to be lifted on the afternoon of January 29. Incidentally, MSI is talking to us again about its XOC card for AMD processors: the MEG X870E Unify-X!

MSI introduces the MEG X870E Unify-X and support for the Ryzen 7 9850X3D!

In broad terms, MSI says it is ready to support AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D. This will be a new CPU based on the design and specifications of the current 9800X3D, but with higher factory frequencies: 5.6 GHz compared to 5.2 GHz for the current model. In general terms, you will need to update your motherboard’s BIOS to accommodate this new model, a procedure that is nothing new in itself.

Otherwise, the brand is revamping its XOC motherboard for AMD processors. As a reminder, the Unify-X series is designed for overclocking and includes a whole host of features for this practice. Firstly, the card has a solid power supply consisting of 18+2+1 phases made up of 110A SPS. Secondly, it has a full range of connectors, including numerous PCIe slots and a memory configuration that promotes frequency increases via two DDR5 slots supporting memory up to 10,000 MT/s (on paper).

The card also comes with a number of features designed to increase frequency. The brand highlights features such as a dedicated OC Engine, BCLK Booster, and Direct OC Jumper, for example. But the card also comes with a 64 MB BIOS chip for future support of Ryzen processors without abandoning support for other models.

Finally, we learn that the BIOS integrating the AGESA PI pre-1.3.0.0 code will bring “improved compatibility and performance” for the Ryzen 7 9850X3D.
