Direction Microsoft, and more specifically a feature added to Windows 11. The system’s Auto HDR is the cause of a number of problems, particularly in games. We’re talking about problems with colours not being rendered correctly, crashes and even game crashes. In short, it’s not a glorious situation once again.

Auto HDR: a new plague for Windows 11 24H2!

Windows 11 Auto HDR

Basically, when this feature is active, a whole host of problems can arise. These include poor colour rendering, game crashes and even crashes. These problems have been reported by players of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, where the game freezes on the loading screen. Other titles affected include Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry and Need for Speed Unbound.

Of course, Microsoft has acknowledged the problem and has responded by blocking installation of the update on the systems affected. In addition, the company recommends that you do not force the installation of the update, in particular by using Windows 11 ISOs or the brand’s Media Creation Tool.

In the meantime, if you are affected by this problem, the best thing to do is to deactivate Auto HDR. To do this, proceed as follows:

  • Settings -> System -> Display -> Graphics and deactivate the option

WindowsLastest has revealed that this is not the only problem with the 24H2 update. Other problems include mouse cursors disappearing at random, performance issues and a file explorer menu that appears outside the window. In short, it’s not a happy time, and every major system update brings its own share of problems!
