Intel: Battlemage GPU with 64 Xe cores in 2024?

According to well-known YouTube leaker RedGamingTech, Intel’s next generation GPU, aka Battlemage, will be equipped with 64 Xe cores.

Battlemage, an Intel GPU twice as big as Alchemist?

Intel GPU Battlemage

In a new video, RGT (RedGamingTech) talks about the next generation of Intel graphics cards called Battlemage. We would have a doubling of the cores with 64 Xe cores against 32 currently for the A770, a target frequency of more than 3 GHz coupled with 48 MB of L2 cache and GDDR6(X?) VRAM on a 256-bit bus. The GPU is said to be equivalent in size to the AD103 (4080, 4090 mobile) using TSMC’s 4nm node.

Despite knowing the specifications, RGT does not have enough information about performance improvements, especially in Ray Tracing or changes in the architecture (Xe HPG ? Xe2 HPG ?).

Intel GPU roadmap Battlemage

Battlemage should arrive in the second quarter of 2024 according to the YouTuber, who also unveiled a GPU roadmap from Intel. The interesting things to note are the presence of an ”Alchemist+” entry with 2 GPUs planned, and that the top end segment that Battlemage will represent will not exceed 225W of TDP.

However other leakers had previously predicted the arrival of this new generation for 2023, so this would leave the market wide open to AMD and NVIDIA when Team Blue are trying to gain consumer GPU market share.
