Intel has just published a new driver for its graphics cards. The company has released the version 101.6253 of its Arc GPU Graphics Driver, with an endless list of changes. In fact, the brand has identified a myriad of new problems!
Intel 101.6253 fixes :
We’re going straight to the patching part, since the company isn’t proposing any new video game support or performance gains in this version. In short, the patches will go quickly, since five points have been corrected:
- Flashing corruptions in certain scenes on The Crew Motorfest (VK) have been corrected.
- No more crashes when launching Saleco (VK).
- The same goes for stuttering on certain in-game scenes in Elden Ring (DX12).
- No more crashes on Homeworld 3 (DX12).
- On F1 24 (DX12), no more stuttering during gameplay with ray tracing set to high.
- The game may display corruptions during night scenes.
The endless list of known problems :
Finally, we come to the list of known problems, which is, quite literally, endless!
Intel Arc B-Series Graphics Products:
- F1 24 (DX12), with XeSS, FG can exhibit certain corruptions and application crashes
- The application may crash when changing the XeSS FG setting during gameplay. We recommend setting the XeSS FG in the game menu before starting a race.
- Using Alt Tab can change the display mode to exclusive full screen, which is not supported by XeSS 2 and will result in game crashes .
- Skull and Bones (DX12) may crash on game launch.
- MLPerf may show intermittent errors when running on multi-GPU systems. It is therefore recommended to disable the iGPU to work around the problem.
- On Topaz Labs Photo AI, corruptions may occur with certain image enhancement operations.
- Vegas Pro may display corruptions when using the style transfer feature.
- Using the HQAO option may cause CATIA to crash.
- Some capture cards may display visual artifacts in certain scenarios.
- Lightroom Classic may experience reduced performance. To avoid this problem, use the application’s default preferences.
- In Edit -> Preferences -> Performance options, choose the graphics processor as “custom”.
- Select “Use GPU for display”, “Use GPU for image processing” and “Use GPU for export”.
Intel Core Ultra Series 1 with Intel Arc iGPU:
- Instabilities may occur on SPEC workstation 3.1 when processing certain workloads.
- Intermittent errors may occur on Puget Bench for DaVinci Resolve studio V19.0 when presets are set to Extended.
- Errors may appear on DaVinci Resolve Studio v19.0 when rendering on OpenVino test scenarios.
- After using certain video enhancement templates, Topaz Video AI may cause corruptions when exporting videos.
- Flickering in-game corruptions may appear on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (DX12).
Intel Core Ultra Series 2 with Intel Arc iGPU:
- Adobe Premiere Pro may display corruptions on output video after performing AV1 encoding in 8K.
- Intermittent errors may occur on Puget Bench for DaVinci Resolve studio V19 when presets are set to Extended.
- Errors may appear on DaVinci Resolve Studio v19.0 when rendering on OpenVino test scenarios.
- Intermittent errors may appear in DaVinci Resolve Studio v19.0 when rendering certain AI/ML scenarios.
- After using certain video enhancement templates, Topaz Video AI may cause corruptions when exporting videos.
- Black shadow corruptions may appear on some scenes in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (DX12).
- Horizon Zero Dawn Remasterd (DX12) may crash during gameplay phases when frame generation is activated.
Intel Graphics Software :
- Intel Graphics Software may crash when navigating from page to page or switching between dialog boxes. The problem is linked to a framework issue that will be corrected when WinAppSDK 1.7 is available for upgrade. When this happens, restart the software.
- Using the “reset all settings” option in the settings and preferences tab on Windows 10, the application may crash intermittently. Settings can be reset from individual software pages without problems.
- When Intel Graphics Software detects Windows plug and play events, it reconfigures the user interface to make sure the user has the latest hardware information listed. On some system configurations, the frequency of reconfigurations is higher than expected, and may take longer to complete when the system wakes up from standby. Intel Graphics Software optimizations will soon be available to help reduce the number of reconfigurations.
- When reorganizing metrics for the first time, the software may crash uniquely. Subsequent uses will not be affected by this crash.
- The framerate limiter may not limit your FPS with V-Sync enabled and Low Latency mode active.
- Profile controls do not always replace general controls.
- Scaling to non-native screen resolutions may lead to unintended scaling.
- Intel Graphics Software Performance Tuning (BETA):
- Intel Graphics Software Performance Tuning is currently in beta. As such, performance and functionality may behave in unexpected ways. Intel will continue to improve Performance Tuning in future releases.
- In multi-GPU scenarios with two Performance Tuning-enabled devices, the feature will attempt to apply changes to one or more devices rather than applying changes to the selected device.
